November 2014 Staff Recommendations

Posted on Updated on

Check out these selections from ICC staff!

Chef Kir Rodriguez loves to read almost as much as he loves to cook! He is a regular in the library and his top pick is Bittersweet by Alice Medrich.

“The recipes are very well written and every recipe includes footnotes on how to substitute different percentages chocolate in the recipe”

Sara Medlicott, ICC Librarian, is a huge Gabrielle Hamilton fan. Her memoir Blood, Bones and Butter is an all time favorite.

” Best for: Anyone looking for inspiration + motivation! If you love the stories behind food.”

Cooking in the Moment is a new arrival and a staff recommendation from our Program Coordinator, Carolyn Gill.

“It highlights seasonal, southern-influenced comfort food. The kind of recipes you want to make on a Sunday afternoon.”

Rob Seixas, Director of Education, is always cooking so he knows a thing or two about cookbooks. His pick is The Elements of Taste by Gray Kunz.

“Aside from recipes from a truly exceptional chef, “taste” and what and why we perceive taste is explored in a fascinating way”

And last but not least, Sabena Singh, Library Assistant here at ICC suggests My Favorite Ingredients  by Skye Gyngell.

“Pick this book up and liven your weekly menus. Best for: An adventurous cook”

Come by the ICC Library to pick up these books and more!
